The rune for today is Othala. It is the symbol for heritage, but also carries a notion of heirloom. Another way to think of it is legacy. Othala is part of Tyr's Ætt. As a reminder, the themes for Tyr's Ætt are completion, justice, spiritual lessons, and the higher path. In this case, Othala would fall under completion. It's where we are our most true and authentic selves. It's belonging somewhere. It's home.
In love, some would be quick to say that this rune is talking about building a legacy. Rather, today, consider it completion. Are you with someone who makes you feel complete? Is there something missing? Is there something off? All of these help you determine if your love interest is one that will last a lifetime. Consider the consequences of being with someone who leaves you feeling incomplete, empty, or strange. These are warning signs. Heed them.
For career, we'll focus on completeness in putting down roots. Job hopping is exhausting. If the job you are in makes it feel like marking time, then it's time for a change. Each move needs to be purposeful and with the hope of finding a place to belong. If your job is failing in providing that sense, then chances are putting down roots will be unsatisfactory.
With life, heritage completeness can mean many things. Since our focus has been on completion, consider what will ensure a lasting legacy that will complete your journey on this mortal plane. It may be financial, but it could be just as easily a work of art or a writing. It could be anything that will outlast you once you shuffle off this world. And the bigger question, what do you think it'll feel like when you complete that lasting piece of you?
The tarot spread for today is as follows:
Past - Reversed Nine of Wands
Present - Reversed Two of Pentacles
Future - Reversed The Sun
Obstacle - Page of Pentacles
Solution - Reversed Nine of Cups
There is a surprisingly common theme in these cards. The past card indicates fatigue. The present card notes being overwhelmed. The future speaks to burn out. The obstacle shows a struggle with ambition. And the solution card suggests a negative attitude.
The tarot today are saying that you may feel stuck and you've always felt stuck. And you'll keep feeling stuck with a lack of desire for change. Is the solution pessimism? The tarot indicate that it may be time to stop struggling with unfulfilled wishes and find ambition to leave them behind. When you add the rune into this reading, it highlights the need for belonging, completeness, legacy. Will your legacy be dark and hateful? Or do you have what it takes to make a legacy that is filled with light and love?
It is my sincere hope that you choose the latter. As for me, with light and love! ~ Solace
