The Elder Futhark Rune of the Day today, the day in the title, is Ingwaz or "Seed." This is the first of a two part daily, personal practice that has me choose a rune and then do a five tarot card spread that encompasses past, present, future, obstacle, and solution. For the rune, Ingwaz is a reminder of the beginning of life. It is fertility and growth.
For people who create human life within their womb, today could be a very powerful day. It could be the sign that the time is near to do just that. It could also be that the pain from the past is giving way to a brighter future. This is a sign of hope that the seed is coming and patience may be necessary, but for only a while longer.
For love, this means to start a conversation or propose a date or meeting. It means that something new is blossoming and it's time to put some energy to tending that garden. Give love what it needs. Attention. And in so doing, you may find yourself unexpectedly fruitful!
For career, this means that the promotion you were contemplating yesterday or the new job you were considering pursuing, today is the day when it begins to form roots. Work requires tending, but in a different way. Once you plant a seed, you are unable to determine what harvest you'll reap until the plant reaches maturity. If water is needed, give it water. Regardless, you need to consider truly what is needed. Is it time to do something? Or instead, is it time to wait for the seeds you've planted to sprout? Based on your situation, it could be either, but be mindful and clearly consider what the situation calls for today.
For me, it has reminded me that once seeds are planted, a harvest is still uncertain. Case in point, I planted a garden this year. When I planted my seedlings, I was excited for the tomatoes I was sure to harvest; the cucumbers, lettuce, peppers, and herbs! And then along came a bunny. A very hungry bunny. My garden is now a raised bed of dirt and weeds as the bunny ate all of my seedlings.....So today is a day to be cautiously optimistic. It's a day to plant seeds and hope. I must avoid counting my harvest because it was merely planted today.
The second part of today's blog is going to my tarot spread. I do a five card spread. They represent my past, present, future, obstacle and resolution to the obstacle. To start off, I had only one major arcana card today. My husband had the reverse (four major arcana cards and one minor arcana). I had four inverted cards and one upright. Again, the husband had nearly the opposite, all of his were upright.
The only upright card I had was the ten of wands. And unfortunately, it was in my obstacle position. My past card was the inverted ace of pentacles. This indicates poverty. And hits true. My past with my husband was littered with poverty and living on the razor's edge. The present card was inverted the hermit. Basically telling me that today I need to step out into the world and make connections. The future card was the inverted eight of cups. This one is telling me to keep moving towards what my intuition tells me to pursue. The obstacle was the upright ten of wands. This indicates that I'm weighed down be responsibilities and it may be time to diversify or delegate to alleviate some of the pressure. The solution card, however, is what throws the whole thing for me. It is the inverted seven of swords. This indicates that there is possibility to be pleasantly surprised.
I've been wrestling with this for a while now and would love to hear if you think you know how this solution card affects the other four cards. I'll continue to wrestle with this for a bit more. While I contemplate, I'm going to do some dream building and hopefully figure out how to move myself towards a more certain future of prosperity. Until tomorrow, "Gratitude, Love, and Light!" - Divine Dokter
